in Oil Heating
Hi. I woke up this morning to no heat. Went down thermostat showed 61 and set for 69. Went down to the boiler and noticed a red light on which im guessing is a pump. I reset it, burner kicked on. Then shut off. I did it again. Shut off again.
I did some searching and havent found much help. Im wondering if its an oil flow problem. We just had the tank filled yesterday after it being pretty low. I dont know how low but under 1/4 tank. Wondering if it pulled some crap into the filter.
I dont want to keep resetting it and hoping I can fix myself. I also smelled oil after I did it the second time.
Anyone have any ideas. Thank you

Matt. For starters I wouldn't hit the reset button again. Without sounding harsh you probably should call a professional technician.0

Yea. I think its come to that. I replaced the filter cartridge. But I dont see any flame, spark or sign of ignition.
I called two guys so far. Just waiting for a call back. Thanks though.0 -

So it turns out line was clogged just at the inlet valve to the filter. Paid 125 bucks and learned a little.
Thanks for the help.0 -
For the 125 bucks, he should have charged you a little more and replaced that Cartridge filter with a Spin On and ended the problem. If the cartridge filter had a red top, it's General Filter. "Secret". General Filters bought out Garber Filters, a Spin On type. I wonder why. Because it is a better filter?
YES it is.1
