Noisy Open Honeywell Zone Valve

Hi all, I have three Honeywell v8043e. One of the valves, when open, makes a, what sounds like either a water noise or like metal tumbling around right at the valve. It is clearly the oldest of the zone valves. I have recently changed a seized motor on this valve. It appears to pass hot water when it's supposed to, but it is on a zone that doesn't keep more than 65 degrees on a 20 degree day. It is a large room but appears to have adequate baseboard.
Had a clean and check done and air has been bled. Other zones work well enough.
Thanks
Steve

have you tried the following: when the piping is cold in this zone and the valve is off (closed), turning another zone on and seeing if the piping for this zone heats up? if it does, the ball inside the valve is broken, not typical. only other thought is that there is debris or something else that has crudded up the valve flow path to restrict flow in some way

As shadow mentioned there is a butyl ball attached to the shaft inside, these can wear, erode, harden and even disengage from the shaft. Only way to know is remove the top mechanism from the brass body. Isolate the water first, somehow.

We have cycle tested a bunch of various brands of ZV, they all have a life expectancy, greatly dependent on how often they cycle, fluid quality and operating temperature. 10 years is a realistic service life.
