    There has been plenty of heated discussion

    in the industry about this over the past decade.  There are clearly some real issues. There are clearly some non-issues.  Hot air continues to emanate from every discernible  direction.



    I believe the NFPA can handle this one.

    Back when TJI, and BCI floor joist were introduced no one ever thought about how little wood there is in case of a fire. They were great in spanning long distances with out support beams, and knock outs for plumbing, electrical, and even hvac.

    Fire fighters realized that the potential of an unstable floor in the event of a fire. People still use them.

    actually the fire depts. still lobby against a lot of things. Trusses. tji. etc.

    And the Fire Nazi's lobby for residential fire sprinkler systems in areas with only private wells, and 5 GPM pumps or well production. That's 300 Gallons Per Hour.

    If you read everything those doom and gloom terrorists propose, you'd be heading for the bed, getting under a blanket, and hoping that you never woke up.
