in Oil Heating
We have a 1950 sq ft house on cement slab with fireplace. The first floor has always been cool. We are replacing a 101 btu Peerless with internal coil for hot water. There are 3 heat zones. Installer proposed a Buderus g115ws3( DOE 85k) with 4th zone for hot water tank. I am concerned this may be too small a boiler. Next step up is Buderus g115ws4 (DOE 109k). I don't want a cold house after this replacement. Thanks for your time and thoughts

    and room-by-room heat loss will tell you whether this is true or not.  85k output gives you 44 BTUs per square foot, which is quite likely oversized itself.

    Heat loss

    You need to have a heat loss on your house. That being said unless you are in Antarctica the three section will do just fine. They sized boilers with tankless coils for the hot water load but with a indirect you size the boiler to the actual heat load. If I had to guess depending on your location your heat loss is less than 60,000.
