yellow pex with steam boiler

Has anyone heard of using yellow pex piping instead of copper to radiate the hot water in basement from a steam boiler? Yellow apex supposedly can handle 240 degrees and there's no need to solder joints like copper. Also would a bypass line still be necessary?

PEX
A circulated loop off of a steam boiler should never see more than 180F degrees anyway. The bypass makes sure of that.0
