Convert Peerless EC/ECT-03

I am considering converting my oil burning Peerless EC/ECT-03 steam boiler to NG. I have a 3/4" NG line coming the house for my water heater, range and dryer. The burner is a Riello 40F5 with .75/60w nozzle, air 2.2 and head 1.5.

Can I convert this setup? The peerless manual says nothing about it.Also is the NG line big enough to accommodate?

If it is possible, what is the best option or what are the things I should consider? And do I need to have a steam pro do this or is a burner specialist the way to go? (assuming it will be hard to find both)

I have been seeing posts about modulating burners for steam that would down fire once pressure is built up. Not sure if this exist but would that be an option?

Lastly, should the draft vent be taken out when converting to gas?

Thanks in advance

Alex

    Gas

We've converted many of those Peerless models with great success. The gas line size depends on the length of the run and the other gas appliances in the house. The vent draft control needs to be changed to a double swing type that is made for gas.

    Where are you located?

    Let me know

I have the same set up as you and am looking to do the same type of conversion due to the crazy oil prices, please let me know how your experience with the conversion went and how much it cost to get it all completed.

then I will start thinking about converting the oil burner to gas.

Does anyone has any recommendations for a good contractor for this type of conversion?
