How do you guys feel about the flanged Watts AS-MB air separator with the circulator bolted right to it? Recommended practice calls for 12 pipe diameters of spacing upstream of the circulator's inlet. I can use all the space I can steal so this method is tempting.

from the spec sheet
Series AS-MB does not require laminar flow for efficient separation and elimination of entrained air in hydronic heating systems. There is no minimum inlet/outlet piping length required for proper operation of AS-MB Microbubble Air Separators.
The circulator inlet will be right at the PoNPC so it should be quite happy.0 -
Excellent!
The extra foot will make my life a lot easier.0
