Beckett burner leaks

New beckett burners leaking oil under burner. The burner is angled forward as per instruction. It that common that it would leak or is faulty?

    leaking from where & how much?

    Make sure the jet line and bleeder are tight, as well as the fireomatic fittings...



    If it is indeed leaking from the burner this could be from a few things, a faulty pump seal {rare on a new unit}, a bad pattern in the nozzle, a cracked nozzle adapter, z dim off, heat in chamber causing drip, draft, and many more... I would start with an inspection and new nozzle, make sure all adjustments are correct {mainly the z dimension} and burner is tilted towards the firebox.... check the endcone and the nozzle adapter very well... Dry it out very well and coat the inside of the burner with some oil smell powder, then run it and as soon as you see a drip, shut it down and open it up, see if you can tell where the drip starts in the powder...

    Check this with a plugged nozzle in the nozzle assembly, outside the burner, attached to the pump (watch out with the transformer opened)

    Possible leaky Clean-Cut pump. Pull the motor, and look at the shaft seal. May also be a faulty pump cover gasket, oil inlet fitting, or hopefully a fireomatic valve, pump casting leak, plugged off option not sealed or tight, adjustment "O" ring, or nozzle line. If you have it pitched towards the chamber, and, and just slightly is sufficient, the leak out side the burner chassis will be drawn in thru the air bands. Start outside, then work your way in. Any pics?
