Draining 1 zone in closed system

Hello, I have a gas fired hot water system, has 2 zones, 1 of which I need to drain. I want to make sure all water is out and I don't have a air compressor. Is there a way to go about this without a air compressor?

    Unless the system is all pitched back to the drain and has NO high spots or traps, I would say you will not get all the water out with out a compressor...

    I have no idea about the angle, the only way to get air in the pipes is from the air check valve. Plus since there is only one exit, how do I even hook up the air compressor?

    I would shut off the water feed, drain the pressure off the boiler, remove the pressure relief valve, hook the compressor up to the relief valve port, close all other zones {if they are zone valves, if they are circulators shut their valves off, and let the air psi blow through that zone and out the zones purge valve..
