Taco air scoop

in THE MAIN WALL
I am currently working on an air scoop which has 2 tappings on top.One goes to the traditional steel air to water expansion tank & the one next to it goes to an automatic air vent.Isnt the air vent located on top the wrong application?

    Use one or the other

    but never both. Its getting harder to find the ones with the 3/4 tapping on top.

    When we pull them I put them in the blast cabinet and clean and repaint them.

    never use a air vent with a standard expansion tank.
