no heat...yes gas????

in Gas Heating
My heat won't turn on...neither will my gas log. Tried lighting gas log pilot... wouldn't hold flame. My Dad tried furnace pilot...couldn't figure out how it lit. So... I have no heat. I DO however have hot water, clothes dryer and stove that all work. What is going on? The heat is gas "hot water baseboard"...I'm told.

    could be something.....

    as simple as a valve that got turned off...or it could be simultaneous thermocouple failures. Sounds like you need to call in a pro to look it over.
