Biocide

An article posted by ME suggests installing biocide in low temp hydronic systems to protect service personnel from legionnaires.

I would think this would also require a reduced pressure zone backflow preventer and certified annual inspections .

Is anybody doing this?

    In Denver, on all commercial properties...

    the use of an RPZ on all hydronic/steam heating systems is mandatory.



    I believe the local water utility is almost caught up completely on their program of compliance.

    RPZ and biocides

    Is there a biocide component in the basic hydronic formulas like Rhomar?



    The RPZ requirement is a perfect way to justify the cost of a PIG (and on larger systems, the cost of a fully-monitored pressure sensor.)
