My Sears dehumidifier won't shut off. Control switch, sensor or maybe the pcb?

    Nope

    Had it outside on a 30% humidity day; still wouldn't shut off.

    Silly question, did it shut off in the past? I have one that runs the fan constantly and only cycles the compressor when there is detectable humidity.

    Doesn't ice up. Used to shut off; compressor always runs.

    I think i'll try a honeywell dehumidistat. It's about the same price as the sensor and control switch and it might give me more precise control over the humidity level.
