What could be the problem

in Oil Heating
I paid a technician $200 yesterday to repair my furnace.  He adjusted the electrodes and diffuser and the furnace started.  It ran until it reached the temperature and has not started again.  The tech checked the oil pump pressure and said it was good.  Is it time for a new burner, thermostat?  The furnace has a new transformer,electrodes, and cad cell.  What else could be wrong?

    It's most likely time for a new tech. It appears you got a parts changer and not a professional troubleshooter. What did the tech do/say when it reached temp and didn't start? Surely he stayed to observe one complete cycle before leaving.....obviously not. Before he left, did he do a complete check of the combustion with his combustion analyzer? He obviously didn't check everything, or you would still have heat. Unless your burner is ancient, or has something seriously wrong with it, it can be fixed by a properly trained pro. Post some pics if you can. And get that tech back to figure out/fix your burner, or have his boss come out with him.

    What Steve said. When was the service? Doesn't sound like he is throwing new parts at this thing at your expense.

    was the oil filter and nozzle checked and changed. could be air in the oil supply line. but def get the tech back and make him stay for a couple heating cycles to make sure it kicks on and off by itself.
