Rattling/banging pipes

I have a Burnham Alpine piped into 1 heating zone, and a DHW indirect tank that operates off of it's own loop/circulator. It seems when the heating zone hasn't run for a while, and the DHW zone calls for fire, the temperature rises very quickly, and in turn makes some really loud banging/clanging noises. It goes away as the temp drops and the boiler cools down, and then the boiler will begin to ramp back up to 200' but this time will not make the noises. It only does it on the first cycle, if this makes any sense. It's gotten worse it seems lately. Any ideas? Is 200' too high for the DHW zone, should I just try lowering it?

Thanks

    Thermal Targeting by Hydrolevel

The new Fuel Smart aquastat by Hydrolevel (HydroStat) is a good fix for this problem.  It starts off at 145F, and raises the temp as calls continue.  This should fix your problem by keeping that quick rise to a much lower initial limit.

The product requires a bit more maintenance effort, but really does a good job at keeping the water temperature at a minimum level for the demand necessary.
