i am replacing an oil boiler, rated for 1800 sq ft of steam. What would the gas replacement be in BTUs?

What is the EDR?
The math is to multiply the sq ft by 240 but before doing that do you have 1,800 sq ft of radiators attached?
You have to know how much EDR you have before you know what size boiler you need. to buy. A lot of old boilers are grossly over sized, if you want the new boiler to run efficiently do it right.

Never assume that the old boiler was properly sized. Also the dead of winter is not the ideal time to replace a boiler. You want to be able be able to do proper homework. You also don't want the installer to be forced into doing a rush job.0
