WiFi Control

Options
My customer has a second home that is normally not heated but they would like to have a remote accessed control that they can use to turn heat (Electric) on before their arrival. Home has WiFi router that is always on.

Does anyone know of a controler to make this work ?

Thanks for your help, Whidbey

    WiFi Controlled Thermostat:

It is available. It is in the category of "How cool is that?" I think that Honeywell makes it. A friend has it and he was showing us all how he can control the heat and AC in his home, many miles away. It works through an I-Phone type device.

If no one gives you the info here, I will get it for you on Tuesday. Just let me know.

    It a "Google ventures" stat @ $250

    www.nest.com

"...Brrr. After an unseasonably cold day, you log in to nest.com from the office to adjust the temperature at home. If you have multiple thermostats, you can view and manage each individually from one Nest Account. When your Nest is connected to Wi-Fi, you can change the temperature, adjust your schedule and check local weather from anywhere..."

    Wired Internet

If you have wired internet available, look at BayWeb

    http://www.bayweb.com/mktg/webthermostat.php

I have 3 units working in 3 Houses, they work great.

The aux input / email alert feature saved me from a frozen house when my boiler control failed last winter.

For info on Honeywell Internet gateway....

    check out this link:

     http://www.forwardthinking.honeywell.com/products/wireless/wireless_products.html

This is their internet gateway. I think it can handle 4 "zones" and can be used with any of there wireless thermostats.

    Hope it helps.
