Buderus 2107, Taco ZVC and SR

So I am having wiring troubles. I have 6 zones and all my heaters are

Baseboard cast iron in a homerun system ran back to radiant manifolds.

Zone 1: one manifold, 5 heaters and a Grundfos alpha pump to control

This is wired to SR503

Zone 2-5: one manifold, 4 thermal actuators and an alpha pump

This alpha needs to come on during any heat calls

Zone 6: is wired the same as zone 1 with an alpha pump.

The system is a primary/secondary loop with indirect. I need to

Wire it all together so that any call for heat from all of the above

Will operate the primary loop pump. I've looked at all the diagrams

But am having trouble integrating all the items into one bag.

Logamatic 2107

SR503-4

ZVC406-EXP

I'm hoping somebody can help. Inhave all the 24v stuff done but it's

Really the line stuff that's confusing me (certainly the incorporation of

All three)

more than one way to fry an egg

First you have to know what you want to happen and when.

Logamatic especially, many different ways to set up.
  • Wiring

The Alpha pump that needs to come on when any zone calls for heat should be able to be wired to the Logamatic control- there should be circulator contacts that are powered whenever the Logamatic gets a call for heat.

The zones 1 and 6 pumps can be wired to the pump contacts on the SR503, no?

    Primary loop pump

I have the ZVC wired to turn on the Alpha pump for that manifold and

the primary loop pump turns on too.

The SR is straight forward for turning the the manifold alpha circulators on

The 2107 is supposed to bring 63 -> ZC on the SR and remove the jumper

between ZC and ZR. I just am not certain how I can turn On the primary

loop pump when any zone on the SR calls for heat.

    Hope this makes sense
  • Wiring

I can't seem to find anything in their wiring diagrams to show you how to do that.  You may need to wire a separate SR501 to control that pump.

Email Joe Mattiello at Taco to find the solution:

    Carefull..

With that zone pump relay control, if you remove the jumper then the power flow for all pumps will be coming from the relay on the 2107. The 2107 is only suposed to run one pump. Should have bought the EXP with the extra relay in it. I made the same mistake. Well, I didn't, my HVAC guy did. It's workable though. The idea is that all stats need to inform the 2107 of a call for heat. Probably use an end switch in the 406.. Then the 2107 can control DHW priority by turning off the primary pump power. Which is the power to your zone controller.  They do have a diagram for this. I have seen it before. All of your pumps get wired to the zone controller. None are wired to the 2107 directly except if you want, the DHW pump.

    You didn't say

How your indirect is set up? where is the aquastat in it wired to? to the logomatic? or one of the taco boxs. or do you have a tank sensor instead of the aquastat to the logomatic?

and what is powering the pump/ zone valve for it?
