HW Heater Anode

Member Posts: 20
True or False: Most standard residential HW Heaters take a replacement anode that is 3/4 thread size and 1 1/16 wrench size to remove? (Forget about length and whether sausage-type or not) I am only asking about the thread size to fit (typical residential type HW heater). Is this basically a "standard" any-brand-fits-all type of item?

Correct.
That is about it. For those of us who have replaced an anode w/ a brass plug.... and therefore shortened the water heaters life. The socket usually requires a pretty long cheater pipe to free up a old anone rod. kpc0
