old boiler leak

I don't have much details on my boiler besides Putnam co 5020 on the front. My house was built in 29' and I'm assuming this was here. I turned it on for the first time this year and once it was heated water stared pouring out of the site glass. the water is all rust colored and now it (water) doesn't seem to show any resting point in the site glass, just full (despite loosing a couple gallons of water). The white guage never moved, and out of fear of any unnecessary damage I cut off the system. Before calling in some pricey labor & possible parts I am just wanting to see what your take on the problem may be. I attached a couple of pics.

pouring out from the site glass
can't see the pictures, although we need as many as possible to see the problem more clearly,
if the boiler water leaked form the site glass, then my guess would be the gaskets around the tube have failed. these are not that difficult to change. give us more information, including the pictures.--nbc0
