Alternatives to brake cleaner

Anyone know of a safer alternative to brake cleaner for cleaning nozzle assembly etc? I know breathing in that junk several times a day can't be good for me long term. Thanks!

    Alternatives:

    It may not be better for you but I have always used PVC cleaner. It is cheap, always available, and comes with a dauber in the can.  I always wear nitrile gloves. I keep dirty pint cans and add fresh cleaner from a clean quart can.

    If I could find anythng better, I would use it. I haven't found it. Especially for cost.
