Sould I add an outdoor reset to a thermoflo owb boiler? Some have said its a good idea. a friend said it will rot out the boiler.

    It depends.

If it is a non-condensing boiler, you have to adjust the reset so that the return water temperature to the boiler is not too low. I am not a professional, but I believe in that case, you do not want the return water temperature to be below 140F. You would not get the adventage of condensing, but the reset should still provide some benefit. You might wish to calculate the payback time to see if it is worth the trouble.

    AquaSmart

The Beckett AquaSmart and ODR should have simlar results on typical Baseboard or convector systems, on larger systems with big piping and radiators ODR may have an advantage.  ODR should be an option on the AquaSmart within a couple of months.
