Corrosion on Buderus indirect fitting

(See attached photo). This 5 year old Indirect works like a charm but having watched the buildup of rust at lower fitting entry into tank, I was wondering if there's a simple fix, rather than having to remove, re-putty and re-install. Possibly to wirebrush rust away, and seal on the outside with something. Or just leave it alone?

I would take....
a wait and see approach. Sometimes they "leak" to a point then stop. There is noting that you can do to fix it other than draining and pulling it apart teflon and dope.0
