Aero 1725 rpm burner

Does anyone have experience with the Aero Environmental model F-AFC 1725-rpm flame retention burner? I've contacted Weil-McLain to find out if these burners have adequate static pressure to move flue gas through their "Gold Series boilers ; if their engineers give the "o-k," I'm thinking of ordering the Aero and trying it in my Weil-Mclain. Shoud be much quieter!

    Probably not

The Beckett AFG burners that normally come with Golds develop more static pressure than the Beckett AF or that Aero. The AF or Aero would cause the boiler to soot up in no time. If you're looking for something quieter, try a Beckett NX.

Didn't Aero sell their burner line to Beckett not long ago?

    Aero 1725 rpm burner

Thanks for your reply-as you can tell, I didn't log back in until now. The Gold series is also available with the Carlin EZ-1, which is what I'm using. I never did hear back from Weil-McLain, so I put the matter on the back burner.

    I wouldn't

put an Aero on anything. Use the Carlin EZ-1. They run the best in Golds. Cape Cod here also

    Aero 1725 RPM/Carlin EZ-1 3450 RPM

I can't think of one single reason why you would want to do this.

What is the reason or problem that is making you want to consider this? Most of us can make a Gold with an EZ-1 run at well over 84%. I doubt that you could get an Aero to to go much over 80%.

Who told you this would be a good idea? Are they trying to sell you a used burner?

It doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

What model WGO do you have? What is it being fired at and what is the nozzle brand, GPH, spray type and angle? If it isn't running the correct nozzle, it won't run properly. If someone serviced this burner in this application, and it isn't running properly, and they suggest this Aero burner as a replacement, they must not know what they are talking about nor what they are doing.

I think that you need competent professional help with this. Where do you live?

    1725 Aero:

CCOG, I just re-read your post. Sorry, but I think that the engineers probably fell on the floor after your call. You can do anything you like. Whether it is worth it is up to discussion. You can have your leg removed and get along just fine. That doesn't mean it is a good idea. Gold WGO Gold boilers are great boilers IMO. They work very well with EZ-1 burners. What model is the WGO and what are you firing it at? And what nozzle brand, type of spray, pattern and GPH are you using? Is the vent connector in the top or back? The top is noisier than the back. What are your combustion numbers with this set-up? The wrong nozzle can make then very noisy

    1125 Aero

The reason that Weil-McLain didn't get back to you is because this boiler has no UL listing with an Aero burner and won't meet their published AFUE ratings for the listing. In other words, they won't bless it.
