Soda Can Chiller

Eugene, A few years ago during your AC class we built a model chiller for a can of "soda":) I want to recreate one for my sons science fair and need some assistance. Do you have any plans or drawings that I can follow?

Hope all is well.

  • Of Course!

If I remember correctly (which I do), the project was intended to cool canned adult beverages, but soda cans are fine for your offspring!

We used a 1/4 horsepower R-22 medium temperature condensing unit without a receiver.

I believe we used about 48" of 0.044 capillary tube.

You will take 3/8" (OD) soft drawn tubing and create six "holders" by tightly wrapping the tubing around a full can. Leave lots of extra as you will need more than 5 feet of tubing for each can cooler.

I'll check to see if I have pictures of the finished project, but I'm not sure.

    Have fun!
