What type of Oil Burner vent stack is needed for venting oil burners. Is B Vent ok?

    Depending on what your local Codes allow

    L-vent might be OK. B-vent is only for gas.

    I'd have to look it up

    to be sure- NFPA 31 or 211 should address this. We don't see too much of this type of venting in the old buildings we service- they're almost all old brick chimneys designed for coal boilers.



    L-vent is double-wall. As shown in the R.E. Michel catalog, one version has a stainless-steel inner layer and the outer layer is galvanized. The second version has both layers in stainless. Both have a 1/4" space between layers, require clearance of 3" to combustibles and cannot be used where stack temps are over 570° F.
