I am installing a kaowool quickie chamber in an oil boiler. I wanted to use some firebrick for support. The local masonry store has "low duty firebrick cone 16" is this appropriate?

    From what "I" understand, that masonry store firebrick may not like being toasted as much as it will be in that chamber.

    Is this kaowool "Quickie" made by Lynn?  I usually use a Lynn "Wet Blanket" that comes in a box and in a bag. I just form it up as needed. I don't need anything to hold it up. Once it gets hot, it then holds its shape and stays put. I use them for a lot of things. Like when I clean a cold start Weil-Mclain Gold and the bottom "rug" is falling apart. I replace it with a piece of this. The next time I need to clean it, I can then slide the whole thing out.

    I've used it for clean-out plate gaskets on large boilers.
