Home inspections

Gentlemen, I have been selected to speak at the national convention of home inspectors next January and am seeking some of your input. I know that past posts tend to bash home inspectors, but hey, there are good ones and bad ones, just like most other trades and occupations. So, with that said, will you share your thoughts on what you have seen and encountered in the field as follow-ups to home inspections? I will be speaking on heating systems, how they work and how to properly inspect them. Any input or suggestion for content will be greatly appreciated....this is a great opportunity to pass along some good information.

Thanks in advance for your help and stories.

    Pictures! Plenty of pictures!

We've done that too, and will be adding more pics for the next time.

Make sure you have a good enough screen to project them on.

  • You`re the guy Al,,,

when it comes to boilers,,, a "home inspector" job I would not want as it includes everything,,, electrical, plumbing, heating, foundation drainage, framing construction details etc.,,,,,, tough job,,, all dependent on the mortgage/sale value of someone who may not even know what their looking-at.

Seen many homes pass "inspection",, only to find (after the sale),, excruciating amounts of money be spent on something that should have been caught by the inspector.
