Cool Wall Radiators

Options
Well these are different-

<a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/13-USED-STEAM-RADIATORS-PICKUP-FROM-GARAGE-UNION-NJ_W0QQitemZ250602684493QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3a5915804d">http://cgi.ebay.com/13-USED-STEAM-RADIATORS-PICKUP-FROM-GARAGE-UNION-NJ_W0QQitemZ250602684493QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3a5915804d</a>

Some sort of combo convector/radiator? Hard to tell from the pictures. Can anyone ID these? JPF- still looking for a wal radiator?

    Those look like either

Raydiant or Solray cabinet radiators, made by Weil-McLain. They have a convection element inside and the housing also has water or steam flowing thru it. So you get a lot of convection and some radiation as well.

    auction

Hey, auction is still at $.99.

    -

It might be worth winning the auction and taking them to the scrap yard.

    -

    13 radiators @ 50+lbs each = 650+lbs (probably a light estimate)

    -

    12 cents for heavy iron scrap X 650+ lbs = 78+ bucks.

    -

(yeah, I know, scrapping good radiators is sacriligeous. )

buying and selling old radiator forum category?

Actually, I know that buying and selling is prohibited on Heatinghelp.com,

    -

    BUT-

    -

I think it would be very beneficial if Dan set up a buying and selling radiator forum category for old radiators.   You know, since they are so hard to come by these days, and we all share common interests here in our love and need of old radiators.  My point above shows that if they are sold on ebay and craigslist, they might too often end up in the scrap heap and be gone forever.

    Hint, hint-

    special dispensation for radiator sales?

that seems like a good idea, in light of the difficulty in finding old rads, for individuals selling their own collections. would people who have gone over to the dark-side of scorched air even know about the wall?

perhaps if not for sale here on the wall, then notice could be given of their sale on ebay/craig'slist. of course, commercial used radiator resellers could also place an ad on the wall!--nbc

    ...

I live about 5 miles from where this ebay seller is listed. If anybody wants these radiators, I would be more than happy to pick them up and store them for further use.

    Save The Radiators.......

I don't need these currently, but I think JStar has made a very generous offer!

I like the idea of having a vintage radiator buy/sell database.

    It's a shame.

Every day at work, I drive past houses, and see junkmen taking old radiators out to their trucks, and I'm assuming to the junkyard.

We should start a Dead Men Library. Save the radiators and parts from the scrap yard for the people who still appreciate the older systems.

I also asked the ebay seller to relist the items. If he'll unload them for a dollar, I'll snatch 'em up.
