Indoor Sensor

I have a VisionPro thermostat. I use a indoor sensor in one apartment while the thermostat is in basement.

I feel my indoor sensor is inaccurate. Can someone recommend a better sensor to use? The one i have is one inch by one inch mounted on a wall. I feel its too small to get an accurate reading of room temp.

    I guess my Q: to you would be have you actually compared the sensor with another temp device to make sure it's accurate?  Perhaps the sensor is bad or the wiring is excessive in length or gauge to give the correct reading..

    You should also verify that the sensor is the correct sensor to be using w/ that particular stat.  do as empire stated and remember to check the temp w/ the room temp of the stat. Not a stat in the center or seperate part of the room.  it may also be possible to be averaging the two temps room/basement.
