FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Eugene

Silberstein Certified Master HVACR Educator

Professor <a href="http://www.hvacexcellence.org/images/Conference/2009/Speakers/eugenesilbersteinjpg.jpg">Eugene

Silberstein</a> of Suffolk County Community College in Brentwood, New York has

had the title of Certified Master HVACR Educator “CMHE” conferred

upon him.

Everyone is a benefactor or

victim of training!  American companies will grow or die due to the

quality of training their recruits receive.  The administration at Suffolk

County Community College in Brentwood, NY can hold their heads high as they

have one of the best HVACR instructors in the country.

Professor Eugene Silberstein

has been involved in all aspects of the HVACR industry for over 25 years.  His

experience includes; field technician, system designer, contractor, teacher,

administrator, consultant and author.  He is presently the <span style="color:#000000">discipline

leader </span>and professor of

HVACR Associates of Applied Sciences program on the Michael J. Grant Campus of

Suffolk County Community College in Bentwood, New York.

To add to already impressive

and extensive credentials, Professor Silberstein is author of “Heat Pumps

and Residential Construction Academy” and Co-author of the industry

leading text book “Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology”,

both published by Delmar Cengage Learning (<a href="http://www.cengage.com/delmar/">[url=http://www.cengage.com/delmar]http://www.cengage.com/delmar</a>).

Professor Silberstein has an

impressive resume that most others would want to emulate, however he wanted to

make certain he was preparing his students at the highest level possible.  To

accomplish this, he decided to pursue educator credentialing.

Credentialing is a method to

verify that teachers are capable of teaching the competencies within their

curriculum. On the surface this seems fairly straight forward and simple.

However, students are taught English from kindergarten through their senior

year in high school, yet 70% of college freshman take remedial English courses.

The title of Certified Master

HVACR Educator “CMHE” is not easily attained, as the person must

achieve a passing score of 80% or better on six Certified Subject Matter

Educator “CSME” exams. In addition, the instructor must pass the

Capstone exam which covers technical education methodologies.

Credentialing exams are

terminal certifications.  We expect our nation’s educators to know more

than their students or the person working in the field.  As such, a

credentialing exam is much more difficult to pass than student assessments or

technician certifications in the same field.

HVAC Excellence a not for

profit agency is proud to announce that the title of Certified Master HVACR

instructor (CMHE) can now be added to Professor Silberstein’s already

impressive resume.  This is a tremendous accomplishment for Professor

Silberstein as earning the status of CMHE is no easy feat. Since the programs

inception, hundreds of exams have been administered, however a select group of

people have successfully passed all of the exams and have the title CMHE

conferred upon them.

HVAC Excellence commends

Eugene Silberstein “CMHE” (Certified Master Heating, Ventilation,

Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Educator) as he has demonstrated his

technical knowledge and pedagogical skills necessary to impart this information

to his students.

Silberstein visit the Suffolk Community College website at <a href="http://www3.sunysuffolk.edu/">[url=http://www3.sunysuffolk.edu]http://www3.sunysuffolk.edu</a>

    Congratulations professor

    THAT is quite the achievement.

The industry owes you a great deal of gratitude.

    ME
It's not so much a case of "You got what you paid for", as it is a matter of "You DIDN'T get what you DIDN'T pay for, and you're NOT going to get what you thought you were in the way of comfort". Borrowed from Heatboy.

    Congrats professor!

    Congratulations Eugene!

You're like the energizer bunny, no matter how many certifications you get you just keep going, and going, and...............

In this era when so many people just do the minimum, it's an inspiration to see an instructor like you who keeps taking classes and improving the educational experience for your your students.

    Thanks Kenny

    Thanks Kenny!

How are things going in Western Suffolk? One of your old students (Cyril) is getting ready to graduate with his AAS!
  • Prof.

    Prof,

Enrollment is way up @ Western Suffolk BOCES and thats a great thing for our industry, as is knowing that our students continue on with Suffolk Community to obtain their AAS.

It's an honor and a priviledge to instruct future technicians with such dedication and passion.

I'll be teaching @ Western Suffolk BOCES/Wilson Technological Institute 4 nights per week with the start of our Spring semester in March . The 4 course offerings are Oil Burner Service I , Oil Burner Service II , Hydronics Installation and Gas Heating Service.

    Congrats again on the certification.

Hope to get to see you soon , maybe a field trip to SCC is in order.

I will be calling upon you in reference to your possible assistance in NORA Certifications for Western Suffolk BOCES. Thank You in advance.
