on the B&O Railroad Post Office Car.

The pics are a bit unsharp, taken on iPhone under low light.  One can see the boiler, overhead expansion tank, serpentine radiators and green painted DC powered circulator. An early Taco I imagine.  The pano shot is from 4 or 5 separate shots done in the phone.

    they used a darker green paint than Taco. Looks like I'll have to play tourist and go there one of these days, eh? Did you see a steam-to-water HX in that setup?

    That is a Thrush pump

    We were still getting parts for them up to about 10 yrs ago. Most of the verticals we had in operation were still going from the 40s and 50s. Unbelievable pumps. Was a tough one to replace as not many were rated for vertical operation.

    B&O Museum in Baltimore

    This car is in the B&O museum in Baltimore.  The new roof on the Round House looks great. We take our Granddaughter there every week when the Zoo is closed during winter months. The Museum and Zoo honor each other's passes.

    I thought that there should be a steam to hot water HX but did not look closely underneath. One would think that when rolling they could use train line steam as the heat source. I will look next week.  This car served for 48 years.
