HOW NOT TO PIPE A BOILER

After doing some research on one pipe steam it appears that this boiler is a good example of how NOT to install.  It seems to break ALL the near boiler piping rules.  Of greatest concern to me is the lack of an equalizer and a Hartford loop.  I have included a sketch of how the main and return lines run.  I am planning to correct the near boiler piping in the spring or sooner if necessary.  Currently the 1 system riser goes to a T, I was wondering if we should break up that T, and have 2 system risers going 2 directions resulting in 2 separate loops with a common connection to the bottom of the Hartford?  Also, What do you think the steam is doing inside the current configuration?
