boiler rumbling

slant fin gas boiler rumbling when it starts.what could be the problem? thanks

    If I could troubleshoot a boiler based on the information you provided, I would never need to leave the house. Do you have any heat? Does it fire at all? Is the rumble from a pump or from the boiler? Has any performance changed? A new problem or been doing this for a while? Any other noticeable issues or changes? what pressure does the gauge say? Steam or hot water? How long does the noise last? Getting worse?



    Could be anything from air to dirt / crud inside the boiler to hard starting which would need professional service like tomorrow. If the boiler has not been serviced / cleaned / inspected for a season or two do yourself & loved ones a huge favor and show how much you care for their well being and get a pro in there to have it looked at.
