I'm an energy auditor in NH and a client has an old American Standard V34 Boiler (steam). I can't find the AFUE or CAUFE. Guessing its around 72 - 75. Anyone know?

That boiler
pre-dates AFUE ratings. Interestingly enough, these things aren't too bad if properly retrofitted with flame-retention burners, but they'll never equal the efficiency of a Burnham MegaSteam.
What burner is on that boiler now?All Steamed Up, Inc.

V34
It has a Beckett Burner, but the boiler is shot and the client got a $5,500 quote to get what he has in working order. The client is thinking of putting that money towards a newer higher efficiency system.0 -
In that case
I'd go with the MegaSteam. There is no better or more efficient residential steam boiler available today. All Steamed Up, Inc.
