DC millivolts
amount depends upon whether it is a generator or a thermocouple.

thermocouple voltage
Standard thermocouples when new will register about 20 mv D.C A pilot generator such as a PG9 will register around 750 mv D.C. The larger are generally referred to as powerpiles or self generating controls. Powerpiles provide enough power to open a larger valve. In older systems it was the only electricity available. They used a thermostat with gold contacts to improve conductivity and work in harmony with the valve.Polarity on these systems were criticalThere was an error rendering this rich post.
