    what does it mean when a bot gets into a thread or post?

    It's annoying

    and it won't do any harm if you don't click on it. If you do click on it, it will usually attempt to load spyware onto your PC. Usually your anti-virus program will stop this, assuming you keep that up to date, which we all should do in this wacky world.

    This won't be a problem once we launch the new site.
