radiator leaking pls help

when connecting to an old tapping put a little quick wick on the lead threads & for extra insurance ......permatex. viola-----no leaks

I just converted a water into a steam radiator. I changed both 1 1/2 plugs on top. when the pressure is up its leaking a little steam. i used the TFE- TITE thread compound. Is there another compounb better for steam?0 -
