Federal Boiler ID
I came across this boiler the other day. A Federal Boiler mfg in Midland Park NJ. I believe it is a coal boiler converted to oil as there are several small rooms ajacent to the boiler room. I'm sure this will be replaced soon. We are just curious about the approximate age. It is in a house built in 1903 in Orange Co. NY
What I thought was unusual was that the boiler vessel appears to be welded steel... was expecting cast iron.0 -
An excellent old horizontal tube steel boiler. I don't believe that it was ever coal fired. Usually fired with oil or Gas inshot burners.
Lots of them sold in the upstate market. Anywhere from 1945 to 1960's as Bob O'brien says.0 -
Thank you for your input.0 -
Don't forget....
These beasts are HEAVY!!!
I remember trying to remove a few, and it was easier to cut them with a torch than to remove them whole. Chris0
