can a spirovent be serviced. Replace just the top with new one.

You can replace just the top if it is not working but i suspect that if you take it apart, you will be able to free up the float assembly located in the top of the spirovent unit.

Spirovent

I would like to know if I could replace just the top of the Spirovent. Doesn't seem to remove air from system any more.

Take the top off, pry off the metal plate with the 3 big holes in it, wash the float out with carberator cleaner, shake it around making sure you get the cleaner to run through the air vent hole, put it back together and make sure you dope the big o ring. Should be good to go. You can replace just the top if you want as long as you do not have the older version.

You can also sneak it into the wife's dishwasher...(she'll be suspicous if you volunteer to do them yourself)...the detergent works very well on the sludge in the vent. I s'pose Y'all want to know how I discovered this. I was broke...and couldn't bear to throw away 75.00.

Besides, it would have made a horrible racket in the clothes washer.
