What are the proper fittings to use on low pressure steam and condensate? I have seen cast iron 250# and mallable 90's. Can you use both?

For low pressure steam standard 125# cast iron fittings have been the standard for years. 150# malleable iron fittings are fine if cast iron is not available, in fact some fitters prefer malleable fittings. The basic difference is you can't break malleable fittings with a hammer and pipe wrenches are less likley to slip on malleable fittings.

NYC
Inspectors in NYC are looking for steam fittings on water and steam boilers.
Had to change out 1 elbow (had no more steam fittings in the truck that day) at the drip end of a header.

wish I knew
I have an email from the DOB boiler div. chief stating that there is no rule prohibiting malleable fittings on steam. Funny thing is, I have yet to use malleable on steam.0
