You are correct the larger Peerless boilers do not have steel push nipples ..And in fact largest peerless (the TC) uses the same push nipples as the Smith 28 series the hoods and sections also seem to be interchangable..

    Steel push nipples

    Hi guys. Does anyone know if peerless boilers are still using only steel push nipples to join the sections. I have heard that the larger ones are now using the rubber rings. Thanks, JV

    Peerless's I/O manuals show flexible graphite sealing rings on the TC's (~900-4600 BTU/hr out), and unspecified sealing rings (elastomer? graphite?) on the SC/SCT (~550-3700 BTU/hr out).

    The smaller SC/SCT & 64 boilers show push nipples.

    On the bigger commercial units...

    flexible graphite gaskets on the TC

    unspecified (elastomer?) gasket material on the LC/LCE & series 211A

    but push nipples on the smaller SC/SCT & series 64

    per their I&O manuals
