right on there. I feel this is the best way to go. This has been a most popular question as of late. I have heard many thoughts on this including a bed of sand over our panel system and constant flowing water. I would also like to hear more about this. The extreme heat of the black top concerns me. Where I live concrete is the same price as black top. So why? You can add color to concrete if you wish

    Any good suggestions on installing an hydronic snow melting system in an asphalt driveway? How do I keep the tubing in place, should I be concerned with the heat and weight of the asphalt installation?

    The ultimate asphalt driveway....

    would be tubing in a concrete base, and asphalt on top of that. Then, during the summer months, you could turn the drive way into a DHW solar preheat system, or use it in conjunction with e Turbomax water heaters and heat your pool, your hot tub, the earth... What ever, right Matt:-)

    And should you decide to go with just asphalt, there are LOTS of concerns about crushing and melting or both.

    Uponor/Wrisbo has some guidelines I do believe...
