but why not get and adjustable vent and turn it down so you can open it some if you desire

    Plugging vent on steam radiator

    Is it safe to remove the vent on a one pipe steam radiator and plug the hole. I am hoping to keep the radiator air bound so it will put out very little heat. The valve is stuck and the room over heats.
