No it was simply foil to help radiate the heat better.

    Does the foil paper have asbestos in it?

    EDIT: Burnham baseboard is about 50+ years old.

    Never heard of any that did, but don't take that for gospel. When in doubt, have it tested.

    I appreciate your help. I pulled a baseboard that is 50+ years old and was curious as to what the foil would have been made of all those years ago.
