if you take the outlet area in square feet, multiply that by your feet per minute, you'll get cubic feet per minute.

cubic feet per minute conversions
i am using a new turbo meter made by Davis to record airflow on multiple high velocity outlets for a hydro heat system. It reads only in knots and feet per minute. Any body know how to convert to cfm? thank you

Make yourself
a nice cardboard hood with a slow taper that ends up with an opening thats 1Ft square. Hold the hood against the ceiling and measure the velocity coming out in feet per min./cfm. Or spend a few grand and get a Shortridge or alnor hood. There was an error rendering this rich post.

Shortridge
gets my vote. Alnor is a fine product but Shortridge automatically compensates for temperature and altitude. Last time I checked the Alnor balometer still required manual factors.
The folks at the Energy Conservatory (the Minneapolis Blower Door folks) also make a small flow hood for measuring air outlets."If you do not know the answer, say, "I do not know the answer", and you will be correct!"
