    Radiant oven cement floor

Has anyone ever installed radiant floors on top of a cement basement floor? What are the do's and don'ts.

    getting an insulation layer

is the biggest challange. Ideally an inch of foam board would be a plus. But by the time you get insulation, tube, and final flooring you might be up a couple inches. This could be an issue with any doors, and of course the first stair riser will be way off :)

Consider ceiling radiant. Almost the comfort level of floor, and sometimes less of a retrofit hassle.

Do a heat load calc first, of course, but basements are not generlly hard to heat.

    Roth Panel

You might want to look at Roth Panel. Low profile 3/4" think and has high density foam built into the radiant panel. Very efficient and comfortable. Floor cvering can be challenging, BUT if you choose a floating floor material, you will love the product. Make sure you glue it down with a foam compliant adhesive.
