change oil nozzel or just clean

Can you clean it? Sure you can, but it will cost a lot more in labor to clean it than to replace it. After cleaning the nozzle there is a good chance that it won't give the proper angle, and create lots of soot! Nozzles are cheap, replace them.

    i was always told during my appreticeship to change the nozzel of a oil burner (unless its a 10 gallon or more ) but my new boss who has no experience whatsoever is taking advice from someone else that says all oil burner nozzels can be cleaned
