Water Boiler for Steam

Have a French cast iron water boiler that burns coal.

Would love to use it on my steam system. Here's the problem: The top nipples connection the sectiions are 1-1/2". There's one 1-1/2" tap at the back and really no steam dome to speak of.

Has anyone had experience with putting a header on something like this and using it for steam. Setting up the trim would be easy. Just no room for steam in the boiler.

Call this wishful thinking.

Any ideas on this?

Jerry

    steam for steam

A water boiler is not designed to produce steam ,tappings are not large enough plus being european means it is not designed for steam only hot water .You can convert steam to hot water but usually not the other way around espically if it 's european boiler .Wishfull thinking though ,Peace and good luck clammy
