Radiator Venting

With thanks to Steamhead I've got a Gorton 2 and a Hoffman 4A headed my way.

Now it's time to really fine tune the radiator venting.

Is there a rule of thumb for volume of air inside a radiator? Is it save to assume say 1 cubic foot per 5 ft. EDR? I'm sure there are a LOT of variables. The radiators in the house are all fairly similar and from 1926, not too frilly, and not the "thin" type.

Is the venting rate of the small 1/8" vents in the famous book too?
